Smooth Pop Classics - Kate Ceberano

I just happen to run across the latest album by Australian singer Kate Ceberano, called Nine Lime Avenue.

What a pleasant surprise.

Kate has taken some of the 80s pop classics like Razzberry Beret from Prince and Go Your Own Way from someone else (sorry), Roxanne from the Police, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me from Culture Club and many more. And she jazzed them up and gives them a fantastic touch.

Scientology enters a Golden Age of Knowledge

I just saw the event this weekend, wow!

Mr. Miscavige announced the result of a long research done by RTC on all the manuscripts of Scientology books. I was impressed by the research they had done and how the books have now been put back to exactly how L. Ron Hubbard wanted them to be.

The main problem that seemed to have occured was that the typists and the editors that had been working on the books in the past had gone by misunderstood words and then made mistakes in the texts.

It isn’t that they were all wrong, but there were enough little mistakes in these books that they became hard to understand!

So that has been totally cleaned up and put right. The books are now 100% perfect!

And they were released with lectures that have never before been released which now makes a full package called The Basics!

I can’t wait to get through them. It is like christmas all over!

I’ll post about it as travel through these books and lectures.

Blogging from Windows Live Writer Portable

I wrote this entry using Windows Live Writer “Portable” (See this link for more info on that). It if you can read this it worked.

Pretty smooth blogging interface.

I wonder if this can also be made to work with a blogspot.com blog. I have one of those but couldn’t seem to connect. If you know - please fill me in.

I was send a copy of this poster. It’s really nice. This small version of it doesn’t do it justice, you need to see the real thing and BIG PLEASE!

It is a bit similar to a stencil I think. At least the guy is. It reminds me of the stuff I saw on the blog here: marcozna.wordpress.com but this poster is much more colorfull and more helpfull too.

Scientology text on self determinism

This is one of my favourite quotes in Scientology.

The Way to Happiness - also a Scientology text

With all the mention of Scientology in the media these days - I thought it would be nice to give some people a bit of information on what Scientology actually is.

The text called The Way to Happiness which was written by L. Ron Hubbard as a non-religous moral code is a fantastic text. Instead of being just a bunch of “you must do this” “you musn’t do that” it is actually tips and information on how to live better oneself and how to help others live better.

It’s a basic text for anyone - and all Scientologists strive to live by it because it is based on common sense.

The 21 precepts are:

2. Be Temperate
3. Don’t Be Promiscuous
4. Love and Help Children
5. Honour and Help Your Parents
6. Set a Good Example
7. Seek to Live with the Truth

L. Ron Hubbard’s works Number 1 again

A friend of mine just sent me this screenshot of the Italian iTunes store. The number one in the Audiobook category is the Italian version of the Lecture by L. Ron Hubbard called “The Operation Manual for the Mind”.

It’s a great lecture. Part of a series called The Classics which you can see more on here.

The great coincidence is that this CD (or I guess mp3 if it is iTunes) is about the mind and becomes a bestseller in May 2007 - the month of Dianetics which is the when he released the technology of Dianetics back in 1950.

Dianetics research later led to Scientology.

I became a Scientologist back in the late 1980s because I was interested in how the religion is so workable to handle situations in life. The concept of taking a scientific approach to life was what made sense to me. And probably one of the best slogans I ever saw was “Think for Yourself” that’s exactly what Scientology is all about.

Chick Corea in the Sydney Opera House

Chick Corea is doing a gig in the Sydney Opera House. I was sent a copy of this poster and it struck me. The poster is so not computerized I thought it was almost organic!

It’s great though. And I love Chick’s stuff it’s some pretty wild jazz - you’re either with him and in another galaxy or you’re not and you just don’t understand what’s happening.
